Khal Ohr Yisocher Chodorov (originally known as Khal Tiferes Yisroel) was founded in 1999. In 2007, Rabbi Pinchus Eichenstein assumed the position as Rabbi of the synagogue and it was renamed Khal Ohr Yisocher Chodorov. Since Rabbi Eichenstein’s leadership, the synagogue has experienced phenomenal growth, attracting many young families in the neighborhood.

With numerous daily prayer services and multiple educational programs for adults and children, the synagogue has become a central location in the community, drawing community members who seek a warm and welcoming environment to pray and learn.

Khal Ohr Yisocher Chodorov has become a vibrant presence in Peterson Park and has grown to boast over 200 families, who gravitate to the strong camaraderie radiating throughout the synagogue, providing a ‘home away from home’.

Under the leadership of Harav Eichenstein, and thanks to our many wonderful misapallalim, we have been zoche to tremendous growth. Our kollel boker and kollel erev, along with many shiurim, reverberate kol Torah from early morning until late at night. We’ve become known for our shachris minyanim “on the 15s and 45s” as well as being able to provide a mikvah and keilim mikvah to the community. As we continue to grow, we invite you and anyone who is seeking a warm, heimeshe place to daven to join our community and our family and to take advantage of all we have to offer.
